Marko Ivanović : Appeal

I wrote Appeal with the Berg Orchestra on mind. From the prevalent sound of strings the horn or big drum emerge only from time to time – like a memento or categorical imperative. The work doesn’t have any concrete contents expressed through words. It is rather my musical reflection of our time with all of its good and bad. And with respect to the fact that this commentary can consist of up to 100 words, please allow me to quote the American rebellious writer Kurt Vonnegut: “I don't think people give a damn whether the planet goes on or not.”
