Tomáš Pálka

(*1978)

focuses in his work on expressing his relation to spiritual values. The most distinctive principle is the incorporation of space into the overall shape of the composition. He believes that without quietening down and humility it is impossible to learn the true essence of being. He is a co-founding member of the composers’ association and group Konvergence. He is also active in musical theatre, multimedia projects, or projects for radio broadcast, where he searches for connections between music and art at large. He is currently working as a freelance composer and a therapist in the spa town of Rupholding.

Michaela Plachká

(*1981)

Her compositions are inspired by literature and visual art. Her strongest sources of inspiration, however, are people of flesh and bone, their stories, thoughts and experiences. Different paradoxes and contrasts of life transform into musical form, specific for each piece. Interesting enrichment for her activities is recently provided by work with people, with energy, by perception of different dimensions of the world and being, by the cyclical nature of life. At the moment, as a part of her postgraduate studies, she is engaging in the area of sound installations. She is a member of the composers’ association Konvergence. Currently, she lives and works in Germany.
