Miloš ORSON Štědroň
(*1973)
is a composer, librettist, musicologist, pianist, pedagogue, and music columnist. He graduated from Conservatoire in Brno (piano and composition),
Janacek Academy of Performing Arts (composition), Philosophical Faculty of Masaryk University (musicology), and completed doctoral studies at the
Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (composition). He works as a teacher at the Conservatoire in Prague. He cuts a wide swath – he writes
ensemble and symphonic works, music for theatre, film, opera and musicals. His works were performed in Europe, USA and South America. He has
written dozens of incidental music scores for the National Theatre, theatres Na zábradlí, Husa na provázku, Komedie, Klicperovo, Disk and many others.
His musical Štěstí dam (Happines of Ladies) was produced in Hungarian by Pestiszínház Theatre in 2009–2011. He is highly regarded for his author
projects ? music theatre pieces with his own texts and music (Ivan Blatný Cabaret, Hasek Cabaret, western-musical Tony D. on Antonín Dvořák, Gočár
Theatre, Velvet Havel, Salon Kupka etc.). He was awarded with Alfred Radok Prize for the best incidental music (2012), with Theatre Newspaper Prize
for extraordinary achievement in the field of music theatre (2012/2013, for Gočár Theatre), he received Personality of the Year Award from the Next
Wave Festival 2012.
