Slavomír Hořínka

comes from Valašske Meziříčí. He studied violin at Pardubice Conservatory with Dalibor Hlava and continued with composition at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with Prof. Ivan Kurz. He spent three months at Conservatorium van Amsterdam (Prof. Daan Manneke, Jorrit Taminga, Ned McGovan). He is currently working on his doctoral thesis under the guidance of Hanuš Bartoň and Prof. Svatopluk Havelka. Since 2005 he has almost exclusively concetrated on composing chamber, vocal and orchestral spiritual music. His compositions were premiered by the Czech Philharmonic, Czech Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, Berg Orchestra, B. Martinu Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra of South Bohemia, Benewitz Quartet, Moens Ensemble, Puellae Cantantes etc.
