Jan Trojan
(*1982)
is a graduate of Václav Bůžek’s composition class at the conservatory in Teplice and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague
(studying under Prof. Milan Slavický) where he is currently a doctoral student under Michal Rataj. His specialty is incorporating
electro-acoustic elements into instrumental music, and his work includes orchestrations and piano improvisations. His compositions,
which often explore the poetics of everyday life, and musical arrangements have been performed by Agon Orchestra, North Czech Philharmonic
of Teplice, Radio Symphony Orchestra of Plzeň, Hradec Králové Philharmonic, and the Prague State Opera Orchestra, and the work he has submitted
to competitions such as Generation, Musica Nova, and 60 Concrete Seconds of Music has been highly acclaimed.
