Heart in Darkness is more a record of a state of mind, memories and related thoughts than a long and diligently planned composition. It is a journey, a dynamic form...it would sound different if written half a year or more later. It contains thoughts concentrated into one month in summer. Thoughts on captain Marlow and his voyage into the Heart of Darkness. Thoughts on the concentrated melody, the singing which undergoes transformations but remains carried by the same unlapsing accompaniment. Thoughts on the one who can lead the heart out of the darkness and move it.
In the second half of the composition, I used poems by Klement Bachořák, which fell to me from heavens. They come from his collection Gall and Wine.
