It has never been less comfortable for me to come up with a few lines of text.
My fingers are sweating, heart pounding, I feel sick, almost a tear in the eye…
I vividly recall my February evening encounter, in one of Prague’s parks, with
a guy approximately my age; backpack, a cap on his head, an mp3 playing in his ears… pale and stiff as a mannequin, his feet levitating at the level of my waist, a rope tied up on a branch… dead.
The piece “In Paradisum” is an unofficial requiem for those who have completely lost
all hope. I believe that even to them, after the darkest night, light will emerge.
PLEASE NOTE: you are listening to a live recording from the premiere
